How far in advance should I order my dress?

To allow for adequate time before your event, we recommend placing your order between 4 and 6 months before the event date. This will allow time for any needed alterations and/or potential exchanges with our company for a new dress.

What does made to order mean?

Made to order simply means that your dress starts handmade production once your order is placed. We use this method in order to reduce fabric waste.

How many dresses I can order for the Home Try On?

We allow up to 7 try-on dresses per order.

Why does it take so long for my dress to arrive?

All Selby Rae dresses are made to order. Meaning that once you order, it starts handmade production. We provide an 8-12 week timeline to allow your dress to be created, sent to our facility, and complete inspection before being shipped out to you.

Why does my fabric swatch look different than wedding photos I see online?

Colors can appear different depending on devices, lighting, photography, and filters. Often when you see the real photos of our dresses, the images have been edited by the photographer. This can impact the color of the dress that you see in the image. This is why we always encourage our customers to order a color swatch to make sure it is the color they love before purchasing!

What stores carry Selby Rae?

Selby Rae is primarily an online retailer. Our dresses are currently available at the Wedding Shoppe in Saint Paul, Minnesota. If you do not live nearby, we encourage you to try our At Home Try-On program!

How long will my order take?

All of our dresses are made to order. That means, once you place your order, it starts handmade production. Selby Rae dresses take approximately 12 weeks to arrive after you make your purchase.

I placed an order, but have not been told the status of my order. Why?

Selby Rae does not send update emails while a dress is still in handmade production. You will receive an email once your dress has shipped through USPS and is en route to you.

Do my bridesmaids need to order all together?

We do recommend ordering all together to ensure that all your dresses arrive in time for the event. However, if it works best for your group to order separately, you are able to do so.

Why is there no tracking for my color swatches?

Since swatches are sent in the form of a letter via USPS, they do not offer any tracking information. Your swatches should arrive in 7-10 business days.

How does your sizing work?

Our sizing is unique to our company. We recommend taking your measurements, then ordering based on our sizing guide. There are size charts for bridesmaids, wedding dresses, and flower girls.

How do I measure myself?

When measuring yourself, you will need to take your hip, bust, and waist measurements. It's important to measure the fullest part of your bust and hips and the smallest part of your waist. Order based on the largest measurement to ensure the dress will zip up.

What size should I order if I'm pregnant?

If you're expecting, we recommend ordering 1-2 sizes up from your waist and bust measurements. Take into consideration how far along you will be at the time of the event. You'll likely need alterations to achieve the best fit.

Why can't I find my size in the Home Try Ons?

Our try-on program is very popular and is always being updated. If you cannot find your size, this likely means that your dress is with another customer. Our inventory is updated daily. We suggest keeping an eye on the website, checking it daily.
